Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American-British singer, guitarist and songwriter. She played on the lead guitar of The Runaways - a hard rock group made up mostly females in the mid-70s. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention in The United States but earned huge international recognition, notably in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a heavy metal performer after the band split in 1979. She started taking voice classes and soon released her first album 'Dancin' at the Edge'. Ford disappeared for a few years out of the scene following the release of both albums. In 1988, she released her smashing success album 'Lita.' The album was an instant smash for the track "Kiss Me Deadly," and the ballad , 'Close My Eyes forever.
